Our Philosophy

Check Availability and Make ReservationsAt the Austin Street Inn we strive to indulge your senses and sensibilities while paying close attention to our impact on the environment.  Our environmental philosophy informs our unique brand of hospitality; exhibiting local art, hiring local contractors and purchasing from local vendors. The Austin Street Inn strives to make environmentally sound choices at every opportunity. We used as much of the building’s original wood and bricks as possible in our renovation and restored many of the original historic details rather than making new copies. From the paint on our walls to our cleaning supplies, we use eco-friendly products. We sourced our furniture from close by and had our mattresses made by hand at a local factory. Our light fixtures burn low-energy bulbs. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner in our guest rooms are made from natural ingredients. We welcome you to experience for yourself the benefits of green living.

Common Rooms

The Foyer:
With its high ceiling and polished wood floor, this spacious entry acts as a portal to the gracious, relaxed atmosphere of a bygone era. It connects the rooms on the first floor and features the beautifully restored, original staircase leading to the upstairs guest rooms.

The Cranberry and Ochre Parlor:
A stately room for lounging, tastefully appointed with graceful antique chairs and settees in subtle hues of ochre and cranberry, this parlor features windows with views of the wraparound porch, and the rolling green lawn and mature trees on the property. Here again, we used local craftspeople to refurbish our antique furniture and create curtains from locally purchased textiles. It opens into the dining room and adjoins the foyer.

The Dining Room:
Open to the front parlor, it houses an historic fireplace dating from a renovation at the turn of the last century, with a stately hearth, and a picture window and door overlooking the terrace.

The Kitchen:
A spacious, open area behind the dining room, it features new cabinets and appliances designed to harmonize with the historic charm of the Inn.

The Powder Room:
A new half bath off the dining room, at the back of the foyer.

The Blue Green Parlor:
Decorated in cool hues, the blue green parlor is a restful room with windows where to buy real Cialis overlooking the front lawn, a working fireplace lit mornings and evenings in season, beautifully furnished with comfortable antiques in silver-blue and green hues, it has three doors: one leads outside to a secluded seating area on the wraparound porch, another accesses the foyer, and a the third connects to the main floor king suite.
